  1. The most important event for me in the novel is when Miles started talking to Lucia. She became the highlight in his life. She was the one who made him happy, and seem to be the only thing that made him happy. I think the climax was when he got kicked out of the starting spot on the team.He got kicked out because he was told he was not big enough.Miles was really mad at this. What made him act this way because hes been practicing really hard in practice, and he was taken out.So i really wanted the spot back,so he was willing to try anything to get it.

  2. The most important event is when miles meets lucia and when he becomes friends with sam. Sam helps miles by showing him to have a good time when playing football. Lucia helps miles forget all the problems that he has with football and with his dad by talking about their lifes.

  3. I think the most important part of the book was when he met Lucia. She changed the way he looked at life. He wasn't so caught up on not playing. she made him smile. I believe that she made him happier than anyone else in the book which is good

  4. @pat.. yeah lucia was a big part of miles life. Lucia showed him that he was not the only that had problems in their life before. Plus miles stoped worrying about how he didnt start for the team.

  5. @Pat-yeah your right.Lucia did make Miles happier than anyone in the book.I feel that she made him happier than everyone in the book because everyone just worried about him playing football, and Lucia didnt.Lucia liked the real him,and Miles realized that, and he really started liking her. Before Miles met Lucia, all he cared about was football and that starting spot. But Lucia changed his life, because Miles realized there was more to life than football, and caring about what others think. Also Lucia changed Miles life because in the beginning of the book,Miles wasnt really so happy, and he seemed shy.But after meeting Lucia,Miles was happy and not shy anymore. So yes Pat,i do agree with your post because its true.

  6. @Jesus- I agree that Sam was another huge influence on Miles. When he started hanging with him, he laughed more than he ever had. I think that Sam made being on the sidelines more fun for Miles. He had someone else in his life that he could go to which is good. Sam helped him realize that he has to enjoy life and not always be thinking about the negatives.
